Skeptical at first
When I initially attempted the Easy 5K program with Jeff Galloway (Improve 5K Time), I was very skeptical that it would help me progress positively as a more established runner. I believed it was taking me backwards instead of forwards in my journey, especially the speedwork and the long runs. Firstly, I didnt think one needed to run 12x400s or a 7 miler for a 5K race but I gave it a go anyways and today I can definitely state I ran my last 5K race faster than I had hoped I would. I went from a 16 min/mi to a 13 min/mi in 7 weeks. Now dont get me wrong, I still wouldnt recommend a 7 mile long run for a 5K race - but overall the program worked! Now I am on to the Easy 10K program (beginners version).
